Join us as we welcome a new addition to our team: Chef Jason Truscio.
Of Italian descent, Jason is originally from Connecticut but spent most of his formative years in New York and attended the University of Vermont before realizing his passion for the kitchen. He worked in pastry at the Waldorf Astoria and then opted to explore his family’s eating history in Italy.
He studied at the Italian Culinary Institute in Asti, graduating with a Master Chef degree. Truscio’s next stop was a Italy’s Michelin One-star La Locanda di Piero with Renaldo Rizzardo. When he returned to the States, he landed in the Big Apple. He has worked at esteemed Manhattan restaurants San Domenico, Oceana, Ciprani, Va Tutto, and cooked on the opening team of Michael White’s Fiamma.
At age 30, Jason moved back to Connecticut and opened the Culinary Instute’s Restaurant in Farmington and their flagship school in Hartford. Jason also worked with the well known Max Restaurant Group running the Bushnell Theater in Hartford.
